Jessica Wachter

Dr. Jessica Wachter is the Dr. Bruce I. Jacobs Professor in Quantitative Finance at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where she specializes in asset pricing models, particularly those that incorporate rare events, as well as behavioral finance and financial econometrics. She has an extensive academic background, holding a Ph.D. in Business Economics and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Harvard University. Dr. Wachter is also known for her role as an associate editor for prestigious journals such as the Review of Financial Studies and Journal of Economic Theory.In addition to her academic responsibilities, Dr. Wachter currently serves as Chief Economist and Director of the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Her research has garnered numerous accolades, including awards for best published papers in various finance journals.
