Jackson Paul Matsuura is an Associate Professor at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), where he has been a faculty member since 2005 and currently serves as the head of the Department of Control Systems. He graduated as the top student in Computer Engineering from ITA (1991-1995) and earned both his Master's (2003) and Ph.D. (2006) in Electronic Engineering and Computing, specializing in Systems and Control, from the same institution. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Systems and Robotics at the University of Coimbra (2008-2009). Jackson is recognized for founding and coordinating the Brazilian Robotics Olympiad in 2007 and leading his team to victory at the RoboChamps World Robotics Championship in 2008. He has also contributed as a technical translator and reviewer for key texts in systems engineering. His extensive expertise encompasses control systems, robotics, and educational initiatives within engineering.
