The Hong Kong Polytechnic UniversityDr Jack Chun serves as a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and has held the position of Interim Director of the General Education Centre. He is renowned for his significant contributions to online education, having developed multiple award-winning MOOCs on edX, including two standalone courses focusing on Life and Death and Success: Practical Thinking Skills, as well as an innovative XSeries Program comprising three MOOCs dedicated to Chinese culture. His expertise extends to e-learning applications, particularly in Japanese teaching and L2L activities. Dr Chun has made substantial contributions to professional development programs for secondary school teachers and has served as a consultant for various prestigious institutions, including the HKSAR government, SmarTone-Vodafone, and the Cornell-VinUniversity project. His academic work has been published by leading publishers such as Oxford University Press, Routledge, McGraw-Hill, and Springer. His educational background includes a B.A. with First Class Honours from the University of Hong Kong and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, which he completed as a Commonwealth Scholar. The XSeries Programme on Chinese Culture, under his guidance, stands out for its unique content and pedagogy, featuring 15 experts discussing various fascinating aspects of Chinese tradition.
