Gopesh Anand

Gopesh Anand is a Professor of Business Administration and the Area Chair for Information, Operations, Supply Chain, and Analytics (IOSA) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's Gies College of Business. He earned his Ph.D. in Operations Management from The Ohio State University in 2006, following an MBA from the same institution in 1992. With a career at UIUC spanning over 15 years, he has held various academic positions, including Associate Professor and Academic Director for Operations Management. His dedication to teaching excellence is reflected in his consistent recognition on the List of Excellent Teachers at UIUC.Professor Anand specializes in operations management and process improvement, teaching courses such as "Operations Management: Organization and Analysis" and "Operations Management: Quality and Supply Chain." His research interests focus on operations strategy and continuous improvement, with recent publications exploring the integration of lean practices in developing organizational capabilities. Anand's contributions to academia have been recognized with several awards, including the William N. Scheffel Faculty Scholar designation and the Illinois Strategic Organizations Initiative Research Award.
