Gayle Moran

Gayle Moran is a Lecturer in Professional and Engineering Communication at the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership (RCEL). With over 20 years of experience in professional communication across various industries, including information technology and telecommunications, she has also served as a Lecturer in Business Communication at the Jones Graduate School of Business. Moran's extensive background includes roles in executive coaching, internal communication, marketing communication, and technical writing for major Fortune 500 companies such as Electronic Data Systems (EDS), Nortel, Alcatel, and Xerox. She has developed and implemented communication strategies in global business environments, enhancing her students' abilities to communicate effectively in professional settings.Moran holds a Ph.D. in humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas and has taught English both full-time and as an adjunct professor. Her courses at Rice University focus on interpersonal and oral communication skills for engineering leaders, equipping students with essential tools for effective communication in their careers. Through her work at RCEL, she provides coaching and workshops to help students refine their writing and presentation skills, emphasizing the importance of clear communication in engineering and beyond.
