International Development Specialist Leading Coral Reef Conservation Education

The University of QueenslandErin Lord-Lynch is a dedicated education and capacity building specialist at The University of Queensland, where she serves as the Knowledge Lead for the Coral Reef Rescue Initiative (CRRI). With a Master of Development Practice background, she has transitioned from her former role as a researcher at the Institute for Social Science Research to spearheading crucial educational initiatives in coral reef conservation. In her current position, she coordinates and develops comprehensive learning programs, including the successful CRRI101x online course launched in October 2023, which has attracted over 500 learners from 80 countries. Working alongside world-renowned marine scientist Professor Ove Hoegh-Guldberg, she manages the development and delivery of educational content focused on coral reef ecosystem conservation and sustainability. Her work at CRRI involves creating shared understanding among project stakeholders and fostering enhanced collaboration across government organizations, NGOs, academic institutions, and communities. Under her leadership, the CRRI Knowledge Hub has become a dynamic platform for knowledge management, critical analysis, training, and networking, particularly benefiting stakeholders in key regions including Fiji, Solomon Islands, Indonesia, Philippines, Tanzania, and Madagascar.
