Dr. Emily Gleason is the Faculty Director of the Master of Arts in Teacher Leadership program and an Associate Teaching Professor in the Learning Sciences and Human Development program at the University of Colorado Boulder. With a PhD in Language, Literacy, and Culture from UC Berkeley, she has dedicated over 20 years to fostering university-community partnerships in both urban and rural settings. Dr. Gleason has been instrumental in co-designing an online Teacher Leadership degree that includes seven stackable certificates tailored for teachers from diverse educational backgrounds. She also leads the Capstone experience for teacher leaders, facilitating connections among educators, and teaches courses on adolescent learning and qualitative research methods for undergraduate and PhD students. As an affiliate faculty member of the Renée Crown Wellness Institute, she contributes to the Trust and Belonging study, specifically through the Circles de Confianza phototestimonio project with local youth. Her work emphasizes social justice, youth identity support, and community engagement, particularly in underserved areas. Dr. Gleason's commitment to inclusive education is reflected in her teaching and research, aiming to empower educators to create equitable learning environments for all students.
