After completing both her Bachelor of Commerce and Juris Doctor (JD) at the University of British Columbia, she began her career as a corporate lawyer at a national law firm, working with diverse clients from startups to international corporations. In her current role, she champions hands-on learning approaches that develop independent thinkers capable of dealing with ambiguity in the business world. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes practical frameworks over memorization, particularly evident in her work with the Community Business Project and other experiential learning initiatives. As a full-time lecturer in the Law, Communications, and General Business group, she focuses on helping students develop critical communication and decision-making skills, which she calls the "killer apps" for career success. Her expertise in corporate law, particularly in areas of funding, strategic transactions, and private market capital raising, directly informs her teaching practice, where she prepares students to navigate the complexities of modern business challenges.
