His academic credentials include a PhD from the University of British Columbia, an MA from Staffordshire University, and a BA from the University of Victoria. His research encompasses food security, climate change, social justice, and governance, with significant publications including work on humanitarian affairs in fragile states. Dr. Cochrane's extensive field experience spans fifteen years across multiple countries including Afghanistan, Benin, Burundi, Canada, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. He currently leads several major research initiatives, including projects on education policy, social cohesion, and sustainability. His practical experience includes directing two non-governmental organizations and consulting for prominent international organizations such as Global Affairs Canada, International Development Research Centre, Save the Children, UNICEF, and UNAIDS. Dr. Cochrane's work consistently demonstrates his commitment to bridging the gap between academic research and practical policy implementation, particularly in developing and conflict-affected regions.
