Dr. Jonathan Tomkin

Dr. Jonathan Tomkin is the Associate Director of the School of Earth, Society and Environment and a research Associate Professor in the Department of Geology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He oversees the undergraduate program in environmental sustainability and conducts research focused on the interactions between changing climates, glaciers, and landscapes. His fieldwork spans various global locations, including the Olympic Mountains, Swiss Alps, Patagonia, and Antarctica. Additionally, Dr. Tomkin is a co-editor and contributing author of the textbook "Sustainability: A Comprehensive Introduction." He teaches courses such as "Introduction to Sustainability" and "Sustainability Consulting."
