Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology/Neuropsychology from the University of Kent, followed by research positions at Stockholm University and the Department of Neuromotor Rehabilitation at Buccheri La Ferla Hospital in Palermo. Her research focuses on understanding how facial mimicry, facial proprioception, and body interoception influence emotion recognition, with implications for understanding neural and psychological disorders. At Cambridge ICE, she directs the Undergraduate Certificate in Cognitive Psychology program, which she has transformed into an inclusive, globally accessible online learning experience that attracts students from diverse backgrounds worldwide.
