DoKyoung “D.K.” Lee is the Jack A. and Marjorie S. Cavanah Professor in Plant Breeding and Genetics and a bioenergy crop agronomist in the Department of Crop Sciences at the University of Illinois. With an extensive educational background in crop production, perennial grasses, soil science, and international agriculture, Dr. Lee’s research focuses on advancing perennial grass production systems for sustainable biomass and bioenergy feedstock while improving ecosystem services. His work aims to enhance the genetics and abiotic stress tolerances of perennial grasses and develop optimal agronomic management practices for integrating these grasses into current row cropping systems to improve sustainability, water quality, and overall ecosystem services.
