Dap Hartmann

Dap Hartmann serves as Associate Professor of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at TU Delft's Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management. His academic journey began with a PhD in Astronomy from Leiden University (1994), followed by research positions at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (1994-1998) and the Max Planck Institut für Radioastronomie (1998-2000). His teaching focuses on transforming technology into business ventures, with his lecture series directly contributing to two dozen successful technology-based startups. His excellence in entrepreneurship education has earned him the New Venture award six times and the Delft Entrepreneurial Motivator award (2010). Beyond academia, he contributes to public understanding of science and technology through radio documentaries, newspaper columns, and books including "Atlas of Galactic Neutral Hydrogen" and "Kennis in een Notendop."
