Chris Rawson

Dr. Chris Rawson serves as Associate Professor in Marine Science and Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor for the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Curtin University. Through his research and teaching, he helps students understand marine pollution assessment and contaminated land remediation, with over 600 citations for his work in environmental toxicology and marine ecosystem impacts. His expertise spans marine pollution, particularly oil spills, and environmental remediation, evidenced by significant publications in fish health assessment and dredging impacts on marine ecosystems. As Dean of Learning and Teaching, he focuses on embedding enterprise skills throughout STEM education while coordinating innovative programs for high-performing science students. His teaching methodology challenges students to address global problems through science and technology applications, leading to social enterprise or research project proposals. His research has contributed significantly to understanding dredging effects on fish populations, wastewater quality assessment, and marine ecosystem health monitoring, while maintaining active involvement in both academic leadership and innovative teaching practices
