Cecilia Lässer is a researcher at the Krefting Research Centre at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, specializing in the RNA and protein cargo of extracellular vesicles, particularly exosomes. Her work involves dissecting subpopulations of extracellular vesicles to understand their biogenesis, cargo loading, biological function, and uptake. She is particularly focused on how RNA and protein cargo changes in extracellular vesicles during chronic inflammation and in patients with malignant melanoma. Cecilia holds a Master's degree in Molecular Biology and earned her Ph.D. in Medicine from the University of Gothenburg in 2013, with her thesis titled “Exosomes - Characterisation of the RNA and Protein Cargo.” She has extensive experience working with extracellular vesicles from various body fluids and cell types and has been a member of the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles since its inception in 2011.
