Catherine Jacqueson is a Law Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, where she conducts research at the Centre for Legal Studies in Welfare and Market (WELMA). She holds a French law degree (DEA and DESE) and completed her PhD at the University of Copenhagen in 2003. From 2003 to 2007, she served as a post-doctoral Research Fellow at St John's College, University of Oxford. Jacqueson is the co-editor of the peer-reviewed European Journal of Social Security and one of Denmark's representatives in the EU network MoveS, focusing on free movement and social security. Her research intersects social security, labor law, and EU law, emphasizing individual rights protection, welfare state organization in both Danish and comparative contexts, and issues related to EU free movement and citizenship. Currently, she is involved in the WorkWel project, which aims to reshape work and welfare in the digital age, funded by the Danish Research Council.
