Dr. Bina Ramamurthy is a Professor of Teaching in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University at Buffalo, part of the State University of New York system. With over two decades of experience in STEM research, curriculum development, and instruction, she has made significant contributions to the fields of data-intensive computing and blockchain technology. As the Program Director of the SUNY-approved certificate program in Data-intensive Computing and Director of the Blockchain ThinkLab, Dr. Ramamurthy has been instrumental in designing training programs that cater to diverse industries, including manufacturing, automotive, and healthcare. Her dedication to teaching excellence was recognized when she received the Best Teaching Faculty of the Year award from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 2017.Dr. Ramamurthy has also been a Principal Investigator on multiple National Science Foundation grants and has co-investigated several Innovative Instructional Technology grants from SUNY. She is an active speaker at conferences focused on big data computing and has authored numerous publications on these subjects. Her courses on Coursera, such as "Blockchain Basics" and "Smart Contracts," reflect her commitment to educating students about emerging technologies that are shaping the future.
