Haddad serves as Professor of Oncology and Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University Medical Center, where he directs molecular cytogenetics research and co-leads the Medical School Molecular and Human Genetics course. After completing his MD and residency at the American University of Beirut, followed by fellowship training in Molecular Cytogenetics at Boston University, Baylor College of Medicine, and the NIH, he established himself as a leader in cancer genetics research. His work focuses on understanding genetic aberrations and instability in diseases, particularly cancer, through his active molecular cytogenetics laboratory dedicated to translational research and biomarker discovery. His contributions to medical education include developing innovative teaching approaches and creating Georgetown's first MOOC, "Genomic Medicine Gets Personal." His expertise spans tissue culture studies, biorepository operations, and cancer genetics, while his role as inaugural GUMC Faculty Ombudsperson allows him to serve nearly 2,000 faculty members across various schools and programs at Georgetown University Medical Center
