Dr. Arzu Ozoguz is a visiting assistant professor of finance at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. Her research interests encompass investments, corporate finance, and information economics, with a focus on how the information environment in financial markets influences asset price dynamics and stock return variations. Recently, she has explored the relationship between stock price information and firms' real investment decisions. Dr. Ozoguz has been recognized for her contributions to the field, receiving Best Paper Awards from both the Western Finance Association and the Financial Management Association, and her work has been published in prestigious journals such as the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Financial Economics.Before her tenure at Rice University, Dr. Ozoguz held faculty positions at several institutions, including the University of Texas at Dallas, Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Queen’s Business School in Canada. She earned her Ph.D. from INSEAD in France and holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Oberlin College, along with an M.B.A. from Koc University in Istanbul. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a research analyst at an investment bank in Istanbul, which provided her with practical insights into financial markets that she brings into her teaching and research.
