Antoine Flahault

Antoine Flahault, MD, PhD in biomathematics, is a prominent professor of public health at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva, where he has served as the Director of the Institute of Global Health at Campus Biotech since January 2014. He previously held the position of founding director at the French School of Public Health (EHESP) from 2007 to 2012 and has contributed significantly as co-director of the Centre Virchow-Villermé for Public Health Paris-Berlin (Université Descartes, Sorbonne Paris Cité) and the European Academic Global Health Alliance (EAGHA). He is also the president of the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation (APHEA). Flahault's research focuses on mathematical modeling of communicable diseases; he has chaired the WHO collaborative center for electronic disease surveillance and coordinated research on Chikungunya in the Indian Ocean, earning the Inserm Prize in 2006. He served as the scientific curator for the Epidemik exhibition at La Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Paris, which also toured Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Flahault was elected a corresponding member of the Académie Nationale de Médecine in Paris and, as of January 2015, had authored 250 scientific publications referenced in Medline.
