Curriculum
The curriculum is structured across three trimesters covering comprehensive data engineering topics. Trimester 1 includes Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Python Programming for Data Engineering, Database and SQL Programming, and electives in Fundamentals of Business and Data Analytics. Trimester 2 covers Fundamentals of Data Science, Data Visualization, Decision Science, Data Mining and Warehousing, Machine Learning, Distributed Systems, and electives in Cloud Computing and Analytics. Trimester 3 focuses on Data Engineering, Big Data Storage and Processing, Advanced Data Engineering with Cloud, Stream Processing, MLOps, and specialized analytics electives.

The first trimester establishes foundational skills in data analytics, applied mathematics, Python programming for data engineering, and database management with SQL programming. The second trimester advances into data science fundamentals, visualization techniques, decision science for operations management, data mining and warehousing concepts, machine learning algorithms, and distributed systems and platforms. Cloud computing optimization and various analytics specializations are covered as electives. He also works on runtime design, approximate computing, accelerators design, memory design, neuromorphic architectures, programming models, and hardware security. His projects often focus on interdisciplinary applications spanning computational sciences, life sciences, and medical technology.
Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics
Dr. Bhagat’s research is centered on the design and analysis of distributed algorithms with applications in swarm robotics and autonomous systems. Additional interests include IoRT and security measures for distributed computing environments. Prior to joining IIT Jodhpur, he held postdoctoral fellowships at leading Canadian universities, focusing on coordination problems in robotic systems and distributed computation
