As UPS Foundation Professor of Transportation Engineering, he has shaped urban transit development globally through research, consulting, and education. His influential "Transit Trilogy" of books represents the most comprehensive work on urban transit systems and their impact on city livability. Vuchic has consulted for major cities worldwide including Belgrade, Beijing, Lima, Naples, Perth, Philadelphia, Rome, and Singapore, as well as transit agencies like BART, WMATA, and Moscow Metro
