Introduction to Corporate Finance

Michael R. Roberts is the William H. Lawrence Professor of Finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of California at San Diego, along with an MA in Statistics and a PhD in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley. Professor Roberts specializes in corporate finance and banking, focusing on critical areas such as corporate capital structure, payout policy, and their implications for corporate investment and equity returns. His research also delves into the pricing, design, and renegotiation of debt securities, as well as the influence of government policies on corporate behavior. Recognized for his contributions to the field, he has received multiple accolades, including two Brattle Prize Awards for distinguished papers published in the Journal of Finance and best paper awards from various finance associations. In 2012, he was named a Rising Star in Finance by Fordham University.
