Leading Authority in Corporate Finance and MBA Director at SDA Bocconi
Stefano Gatti is the Director of the Full-Time MBA program at SDA Bocconi School of Management and has previously served as the Director of the B.Sc. in Economics and Finance and the International Teachers’ Programme at Università Bocconi. His primary research focus lies in corporate finance and investment banking, with recent publications featured in esteemed journals such as the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, and the European Journal of Operational Research. Gatti is also a prolific author of various texts on banking and finance and has consulted for numerous financial and non-financial institutions, including the Italian Ministry of the Economy and the Financial Stability Board. Additionally, he serves as a financial advisor to the Pension Fund of Healthcare Professions and holds positions on the Board of Directors and board of auditors for several Italian industrial and financial corporations.
Lecturer
Mattia Pianorsi is a researcher in the Finance Knowledge Area at the SDA Bocconi School of Management, where he has been involved since 2018 as a researcher in Space Economy within the Space Economy Evolution (SEE) Lab. His research focuses on project finance for space infrastructure, venture capital funding for space start-ups, and business model innovation in the space sector. He has contributed to various research projects for public and private organizations in the space sector. Mattia is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Management at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, with a focus on space sector business model innovation. At Bocconi, he also serves as a teaching assistant for courses on Infrastructure and Project Finance and Investment Banking. He is a co-author of three publications on project financing and has worked as a research assistant for the Asian Development Bank on infrastructure financing. Mattia has served as a Space Economy Expert for the Italian Ministry of Innovation, Technology, and Digital Transformation (MITD), where he supported the government in allocating funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) for the space sector and facilitated partnerships between the government and space businesses. Mattia holds a Master’s degree in Management from Bocconi University (2014) and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Florence (2012), and has participated in executive programs at SDA Bocconi. His recent publications include works on space economy, the risk and uncertainty of new space companies, and the technical and economic viability of moon-mined propellant for on-orbit refueling.
