Distinguished Scholar Advancing Pediatric Dentistry Research and Education

Gloria Hai Ming Wong is a Clinical Professor in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Dentistry, where she serves as Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation. Her extensive academic credentials include DDS, MDSc, PhD, and multiple professional fellowships. As Clinic Manager of the Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics Clinic at Prince Philip Dental Hospital and Honorary Consultant at both the Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital and Queen Mary Hospital, she has established herself as a leading figure in pediatric dental care. Her research accomplishments include securing 11 external peer-reviewed grants and supervising 4 postdoctoral fellows and 21 PhD students, resulting in over 150 international refereed publications. Her expertise has earned her prestigious roles including External Reviewer for the Australian Dental Research Foundation and Examiner for the Tri-collegiate Specialty Membership Examination in Paediatric Dentistry, UK. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous awards, including the IADR Colgate Research in Prevention Award, IADR SEA Research Category Award, IAPD Morita Award, and HKU's first Knowledge Exchange Excellence Award for promoting oral health in rural Asia and Africa. She currently serves as Associate Editor for BMC Pediatrics and holds editorial board positions for Scientific Reports and European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry.

Phoebe Pui Ying Lam is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Dentistry, where she combines clinical practice, research, and community service. After completing her BDS and MDS at The University of Hong Kong and earning her MPaed Dent from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, she has established herself as an emerging leader in pediatric dentistry
