Leading Advocate for Health Equity and Women's Health at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
Melissa A. Simon, MD MPH, is the George H. Gardner Professor of Clinical Gynecology and Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She is also the Founder and Director of the Center for Health Equity Transformation and the Chicago Cancer Health Equity Collaborative. Additionally, she serves as the Associate Director for Community Outreach and Engagement at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Simon is an expert in implementation science, women's health across the lifespan, minority health, community engagement, and health equity. Her significant contributions to health equity scholarship and women's health have earned her numerous awards, including her recent election to the National Academy of Medicine and the Association of American Physicians. She has also received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Mathematics and Engineering Mentorship and is a Presidential Leadership Scholar. Dr. Simon has served on the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and currently sits on the NIH Office of Research in Women’s Health Advisory Committee.
Championing Health Equity and Innovation in Research
Rabih Dahdouh is a prominent Clinical Research Associate at Northwestern University's Center for Health Equity Transformation (CHET), where he has been instrumental since 2019 in managing projects aimed at reducing health disparities across various stages of disease prevention and treatment. With a robust background in behavioral health and preventive medicine, he has previously contributed to significant initiatives such as the Keep Your Heart Healthy program and the All of Us Research Program, which seeks to enroll one million participants to enhance precision medicine. Dahdouh holds a Bachelor's degree in Child Learning and Development and a Master's in Psychological Sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas. His current efforts include co-designing digital health tools to promote preventive services and increase diversity in clinical trials, as well as teaching an online course on career opportunities in healthcare through Coursera. His work exemplifies a commitment to integrating innovative health interventions with community engagement, ultimately striving to improve health outcomes for underserved populations.
