Bergman is a seasoned developer, consultant, and educator with nearly 45 years of programming experience, including almost 40 years specializing in Object-Oriented Programming across various languages. In the 1980s, he developed a real-time embedded operating system based on Object-Oriented principles and contributed significantly to the creation of NCR's commercial distributed object programming platform. He played a pivotal role in the development of CORBA and OMG Common Object Services and is credited with coining the term "Remote Method Invocation." An early adopter of Java, Noel co-authored one of the first JavaServer Pages engines and has been actively involved in Open Source projects and the Apache Software Foundation.At LearnQuest, Noel teaches several courses on Coursera that focus on programming fundamentals and Object-Oriented concepts. His courses include Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming with Java, Application Programming Fundamentals, and Essential Tools For Application Development.
