Knowledge in the digital age requires careful evaluation of sources, fact-checking, and critical thinking to separate reliable information from misinformation.

This course introduces students to epistemology, the philosophical study of knowledge, in the context of modern challenges like 'truth decay'. It explores how 2500 years of normative epistemology can be applied to reduce the blurring of facts and opinions in our information-rich world. The course covers key topics in epistemology including the analysis, possibility, structure, kinds, and value of knowledge. Students will reflect on real-world examples of truth decay and consider how epistemological insights can address these issues. Through lectures, readings, and discussions, learners will develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of how we acquire and validate knowledge.
