This course provides a hands-on introduction to Amazon Web Services (AWS) for IT professionals. Students begin by creating an AWS account and exploring the Free Tier. The course then delves into three main scenarios: Data, Operations, and Architecture. In the Data scenario, students learn about using Machine Learning to automatically redact personal identifiable information (PII) from data retrieved from Amazon S3. The Operations scenario focuses on configuring billing alerts to manage costs effectively. The Architecture scenario demonstrates how to use Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) to create a secure network topology with private subnets for sensitive workloads, while leveraging multiple Availability Zones for increased resilience. Throughout the course, students gain practical experience with key AWS services and learn how to combine them to solve real-world IT challenges.
