About UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies)

Established in 2003 through the UPES Act of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand, UPES is India's first energy university. Located in Dehradun's serene Himalayan foothills, the university spans a 44-acre campus offering specialized programs through seven schools: Advanced Engineering, Computer Science, Design, Law, Business, Health Sciences & Technology, and Liberal Studies. UPES provides comprehensive career support through its EDGE (Enhanced Development Growth and Enrichment) program. The center focuses on key areas including entrepreneurship, exam pathways, and employability. Students receive extensive support through insightful workshops, seminars, and training programs covering aptitude development, pre-internship training, life skills, graduate career guidance, thinking skills, and communication workshops. The center also conducts mock interviews, employability boot camps, and industry mentoring by alumni. Summer internships are mandatory for all students, ranging from eight weeks to six months, helping them gain practical industry exposure. The university maintains strong industry connections resulting in over 2400 online internships on live projects.
