Dr. Rishi Desai, MD, MPH, is a pediatric infectious disease physician and the Chief Medical Officer at Osmosis, a platform dedicated to health education that serves over 900,000 medical students and clinicians globally. He previously led Khan Academy Medicine and has a strong background in public health. Dr. Desai completed his accelerated education by finishing high school and earning a BS in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA by age 18. He then completed his medical training at UCSF and worked at prestigious medical centers such as Boston Children’s Hospital and Stanford University.He earned his MPH in epidemiology at UCLA and spent two years as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the CDC, where he investigated disease outbreaks. In addition to his role at Osmosis, Dr. Desai currently sees patients through AmWell, a major telemedicine provider. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys spending time with his family, eating raspberries, and learning Mandarin.
