Educational Leader and Technology Expert
Alton Henley currently serves as the college-wide Dean of Business, Economics, Accounting, Computer Applications, Hospitality Management, and Paralegal Studies at Montgomery College, bringing a unique blend of industry and academic experience to his role. His career spans 20 years in the IT industry followed by 12 years in education, where he has taught Web Development, Analytics, and Cybersecurity. His academic credentials include a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from Excelsior College and an MBA in Finance from Howard University. Before his current position, he served as the senior director of the Information Technology Institute in Workforce Development and Continuing Education at Montgomery College, where he managed over 300 courses annually and mentored more than 70 part-time faculty and staff. His leadership has contributed to significant program expansions, including growing the Montgomery Can Code program by 200%
Technology Expert and Academic Scholar
Dr. Carlos Buskey brings over two decades of professional experience to his role as Assistant Professor at Howard University's School of Business Information Systems Department, which he joined in 2015. His academic journey includes a doctorate in Computer Sciences from Pace University in Westchester, NY, a graduate degree in Management Information Systems from Bowie State University, and an undergraduate degree in Information Systems and Decision Sciences from Virginia State University. Before entering academia, he spent 22 years as a business and technology consultant, bringing valuable real-world experience to his teaching. His research focuses on critical areas of modern technology, including social capital, cybersecurity, technology availability, and technology education, making him a valuable contributor to both academic research and practical applications in the field of information systems.
